Pandemic and Cruises on hold

Today, we are still in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic sweeping the world. Our lives as we know them have been turned upside down. Our freedom to move about has been limited. We are in a new temporary normal of 6ft social distancing and staying home. Will this end? Will we be able to travel again?

The answer is yes, but the question is when. I am optimistic that travel will begin to open up and become widespread by June 15, 2020. This will depend on other countries flattening the curve successfully. The US is currently on a new 30 day stay at home campaign to flatten the curve. We must all do our part to slow the chaos and for life to return to a new normal.

Travel is a great escape that lets us recharge our life. It allows for slower pace, less technology and a way to enjoy the moment. For me, I love to be on a cruise ship early in the morning when the sun is coming up. It is the only time the ship is quiet and you see very few people. It is a way to connect with your inner soul as you watch the sunrise. You realize the greater beauty of the world created around you.

While I sit here on my porch, wishing it was a cruise ship balcony, I pray for everyone's well being. I know times are stressful, a lot of uncertainty and financial stress. There are brighter days ahead for all of us. We will return back to travel and life will go on. For now, safety is most important and helping to slow the curve.

The future lies ahead and so does the joy of planning where you want to go when this is over. What will your next vacation be? Will you return to cruising, stick to land, leave the country or stay closer to home. Whatever your comfort level will be, you can plan your next adventure now and have something exciting to look forward to.
