Hurricane Dorian Update 9-3-19

Hurricane Dorian – UPDATE: September 3, 2019 - 9:30 AM EST (1:30 PM UTC)

As we continue to monitor Hurricane Dorian in the Caribbean, we are in constant communication with the United States Coast Guard to ensure we are taking all necessary precautions to maintain a safe and secure sailing for all guests and crew on board. While it is our every intention to maintain the original itinerary as much as possible, the security of everyone on board always takes precedence. As such, we are reviewing the ongoing situation and its potential impact on our fleet.

Due to the storm, the following itineraries for Norwegian Breakaway, Norwegian Sky and Norwegian Sun have been modified.

Norwegian Breakaway – August 25, 2019 Sailing Due to Hurricane Dorian in the Caribbean, the United States Coast Guard made the final decision late afternoon on August 31 to close Port Miami as of 10 p.m. that same day. As such, Norwegian Breakaway’s scheduled return on September 1 was cancelled. We have been in close communication with government and local port authorities as to the earliest Norwegian Breakaway would be able to return to Miami, Florida. Due to the uncertainty of when the port will reopen following the storm, the cruise will conclude in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 3.

We are in communication with all guests on board and assisting with necessary travel arrangements to ensure a safe and timely return home.

Norwegian Breakaway – September 1, 2019 Sailing Due to Hurricane Dorian in the Caribbean, the United States Coast Guard made the final decision late afternoon on August 31 to close Port Miami as of 10 p.m. that same day. We have been in close communication with government and local port authorities as to the earliest Norwegian Breakaway would be able to return to Miami, Florida. Due to the uncertainty of when the port will reopen following the storm, the cruise has been cancelled. All guests will receive a full refund.

Norwegian Sun - August 29, 2019 Sailing Norwegian Sun departed from Port Canaveral, Florida on August 29, 2019 as scheduled. Her calls to Nassau, Great Stirrup Cay and Freeport, Bahamas were cancelled. She spent a day at sea on August 30, overnighted in Cozumel, Mexico from August 31 to September 1.

Due to Hurricane Dorian in the Caribbean, the United States Coast Guard is taking all necessary precautions to prepare for the storm. On August 31, 2019 they made the final decision to close Port Canaveral. As such, Norwegian Sun’s scheduled return on September 2 was cancelled. We have been in close communication with government and local port authorities, as to the earliest Norwegian Sun would be able return to Port Canaveral, Florida. Due to the uncertainty of when the port will reopen following the storm, the cruise will conclude in New Orleans, Louisiana on September 3.

Norwegian Sun – September 2, 2019 Sailing Due to Hurricane Dorian in the Caribbean, the United States Coast Guard is taking all necessary precautions to prepare for the storm. On August 31, 2019, they made the final decision to close Port Canaveral. We have been in close communication with government and local port authorities, as to the earliest Norwegian Sun would be able return to Port Canaveral, Florida. Due to the uncertainty of when the port will reopen following the storm, the cruise has been cancelled. All guests will receive a full refund.

Norwegian Sky – August 31, 2019 Sailing Norwegian Sky departed Miami, Florida on August 31, 2019, as planned. Due to Hurricane Dorian, she sailed a modified itinerary. Her call to Freeport, Nassau, and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas were cancelled. Instead, she visited Key West, Florida on September 1; spent a day at sea on September 2; called to Cozumel, Mexico on September 3; will spend a day at sea on September 4 and is scheduled to return to Miami on September 5, pending the reopening of Port Miami.

We are closely monitoring Hurricane Dorian for any potential impact to our ships in the affected areas. At this time, there are no itinerary changes for Norwegian Gem, Norwegian Escape, the September 5, 2019 sailing of Norwegian Sky or the September 7, 2019 sailing of Norwegian Sun.

Norwegian Gem – August 30, 2019 and September 6, 2019 Norwegian Gem departed Boston, Massachusetts on August 30, 2019 for a seven-day Bermuda cruise. She arrived to the Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda on September 1 and is scheduled to depart on September 3. She is scheduled to return to Boston on September 6. At this time, there are no itinerary changes for this sailing, or the following scheduled cruise departing Boston on September 6.

Norwegian Escape – September 1 and September 8, 2019 Sailings Norwegian Escape departed New York City on September 1, 2019 for a seven-day Bermuda cruise. She will call to the Royal Naval Dockyard in Bermuda from September 4 to September 6 and will return on September 8. At this time, there are no itinerary changes for this sailing, or the following scheduled cruise departing New York on September 8.

Norwegian Sky – September 5, 2019 Sailing We are closely monitoring Hurricane Dorian in the Caribbean. Norwegian Sky is scheduled to depart Port Miami on September 5, pending the reopening of the port. She is scheduled to sail a four-day Bahamas cruise calling to Key West, Florida and Great Stirrup Cay and Nassau, Bahamas. We are still evaluating the impact of the storm to her planned calls and will communicate any itinerary modifications accordingly.

Norwegian Sun – September 7, 2019 Sailing We are closely monitoring Hurricane Dorian in the Caribbean. Norwegian Sun is scheduled to depart Port Canaveral on September 7, pending the reopening of the port. She is scheduled to sail a five-day Bahamas cruise calling to Freeport, Nassau and Great Stirrup Cay, Bahamas. We are still evaluating the impact of the storm to her planned calls and will communicate any itinerary modifications accordingly.

Guests who booked shore excursions for any of the cancelled ports of call through our shore excursion team, will receive a refund credited to their onboard account.

We are closely monitoring the storm and will communicate any additional itinerary modifications as needed.
